Past modern reworked classics pattern
The third pattern I did for MIID summer school was for the advanced track (you are welcome to look at the patterns I created for beginners track and for the intermediate track). This time we were encouraged to design a blending of past and present by reworking the classics ornamentations with a contemporary look and a digital craft style. Inspired by traditional decoration and embellishment, I create a series of intricate detailed motifs combined with geometric in a repeat pattern. I chose a very limited color palette from what was provided in the brief by WGSN, according to what I felt was relevant to the theme. The textures were added to enrich the design and so was the use of vary sizes of the elements.
